Marriage Story 婚姻故事

🍟Plot

Charlie, a successful New York theater director who runs his own company, often casts his wife of ten years, Nicole, a former teen film actress, in leading roles. Their marriage, however, begins to fracture. They see a mediator who asks them to write down what they love about each other, but Nicole feels too embarrassed to share hers aloud, and they abandon the sessions.

When Nicole is offered the lead in a television pilot in Los Angeles, she decides to leave Charlie’s company and move in with her mother in West Hollywood, bringing their young son, Henry, with her. Charlie, believing the separation will be temporary, stays in New York, where his play is headed to Broadway. The couple initially promises to separate amicably and avoid legal battles. But Nicole realizes she felt dismissed and overlooked by Charlie, who often ignored her wishes, and she suspects he had an affair with his stage manager.
